San Jose to Limon: turn right at flashing lights at Herediana Junction (about 7 km, 4.5 miles before Siquirres) in the direction of Alegria. 

Limon to San Jose: turn left at flashing lights at Herediana Junction (about 7 km, 4.5 miles after Siquirres).

From Herediana Junction, go up the road toward Alegria. At Alegria, turn right at the "town center" (about 7 km or 4.5 miles up the road, passing a big 3M sign on the right). Continue on the asphalt road (which becomes a graded gravel road) for about 10 minutes and arrive at a T junction.  Turn left toward San Bosco. Travel another 5 minutes and arrive at San Bosco (see name painted on big rock on right "Bienvenides San Bosco").  Turn left toward Union Rio Perla ("La Perla"). Follow the signs to Finca Rio Perla.  Turning left at the school and going up the mountain, the Posada Rustica is about 1 km (0.5 mile) on the left.
=> NOTE: the last 2-3 km (1-2 miles) are on gravel/rocky road that we have recently repaired as best we can. In rainy season, a  4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.

Finca Rio Perla is located in the village Union Rio Perla ("La Perla") in the Municipality of Guacimo, Limon Province, about 90 km (60 miles) east of San Jose and about 60 km (40 miles) west of the Port of Limon.  Turn off at the Herediana Junction and go toward Alegria. From San Jose, Herediana Junction is 7 km (4miles) before Siquirres. From Limon, Herediana Junction is 7 km (4 miles) after Siquirres.

Transportation to Finca Rio Perla

There is bus service from San Jose is about 2 hours to Herediana Junction and Siquirres.  There is bus service from Limon to Siquirres (about 1 hour).  There is also bus service from Cahuita and Puerto Viejo on the Carbbean coast. Taxi Service from Siquirres and Herediana Junction

A taxi (capacity 4 persons) is about 10,000 colones from Siquirres bus station and 8,000 colones from Herediana Junction with a taxi driver we work with. NOTE: we get special prices from our recommended taxi driver(s).   other drivers charge more.
