Below is a short list of suggested of things to have when visit us:

Note: We try to fulfill your basic needs while at Finca Rio Perla. We also sell drinks and snacks not included in the package price (e.g., beer and wine, healthy snack foods). If you anticipate any "special needs", there are limited stores/shops within short walking distance of Finca Rio Perla. Most basic items are available in nearby Alegria (10 minute drive). There is small grocery store 5-10 minutes drive or 40 minute walk in Porton de Iberia. There are major supermarkets 30-40 minutes drive to Siquirres, including a Maxi-Pali megamarket.

  List of things that are good to have at Finca Rio Perla:


  • A big smile
  • Rubber boots and/or hiking boots and/or other all-weather walking shoes
  • Water-proof sandals with strap (for swimming and exploring at waterfalls)
  • Rain coat or waterproof jacket (just in case it rains)
  • Long pants (for horseback riding and hiking)
  • Bathing suit and towel for swimming
  • Flashlight for overnight visitors
  • We expect visitors to come prepared in terms of personal items such as hats, sunglasses, suntan lotion, insect repellent and anti-itch cream, basic first aid kit, etc. as appropriate for all places in Costa Rica.

Laundry: Finca Rio Perla has a washing machines, a drying machine and a covered drying area. Our laundry policy is that - on request - we will wash/dry clothes that get dirty at Finca Rio Perla.  What gets dirty at Finca Rio Perla we clean". We also change towels daily We think that this is a good and fair laundry policy. There is no public access to our laundry machines.  
=>  For free laundry service: there is a wash basin area for hand washing and sun-drying of clothes under transparent roofing.

CELLPHONE/INTERNET: We have Wi-Fi and telephone available at the Posada Rustica and Casa Estrella. If you want to have a local Tico cell phone number,  you can get an ICE (the main phone company in Costa Rica)  GSM  phone chip from  the ICE booth near the baggage collection area and the customs screening machines in the San Jose airport. You can use an unlocked cellphone from the USA that uses the GSM technology. This will  allow you to have a  cheap cell phone for emergencies and for making transport arrangements and even calls overseas. There are USB internet cards, with and prepaid plans.  There is a Kolbi stand at the airport.
